At Project Bread, they believe that by working together, Massachusetts can be the first hunger-free state in the nation! Food insecurity looks different in every community, and local partners and residents are the experts in addressing these challenges.
Through the community investment programs, they aim to elevate local expertise and resources to support the development of sustainable and unique community-driven solutions.
Through this one-time grant of $6,500, Project Bread’s goal is to support applications that develop spaces for community conversations, listening forums, and engagement around food access that will strengthen relationships, support each other, and achieve positive social change. The funds can be used to pay for community facilitators, art supplies, compensation for conversation participants, and other related expenses to the activities.
This fund is not intended for emergency food distribution but can be used to deepen relationships between individuals using food emergency programs. Project Bread encourages applicants to apply in collaboration.
Eligibility Criteria
Grants are open to nonprofits, grassroots organizations, residents, community organizers, faith organizations, after-school programs, artists, and other non-traditional groups located in the cities of Chelsea, Lawrence, Springfield, Fall River, and Southbridge.
