Eligible Organizations

  • Grants shall be made to or through tax-exempt organizations that meet the requirements of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code, as well as to governmental bodies and agencies serving the Town. Town Departments, Committees, and Commissions seeking funding should review BCF’s Town Guidelines before submitting an application. Faith-based organizations are eligible to apply for projects assisting the wider community and if their project does not include the promotion of religious beliefs. If an organization or project is not tax-exempt, an application may be submitted through an organization that has agreed to serve as a fiscal sponsor. If needed, BCF can assist applicants in identifying an appropriate fiscal sponsor.
  • To be eligible, an organization or group must be operated and organized so that it does not discriminate in the hiring of staff or provision of services on the basis of race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability. The Foundation defines the Brookline community as those who live, work or go to school in Brookline.
  • Brookline for All grants will not support fundraising or capital campaigns, capital expenses, individuals, political campaigns (direct or indirect), lobbying, or travel.
