The goal is to minimize the need for disposal or recycling, and instead foster waste reduction to support environmental sustainability and conservation of natural resources, and stimulate economic activity in the reuse and recovery sectors.

Eligible projects
- Projects must support reuse, repair, recovery and/or redistribution activities (not food waste related).
- Projects must be located in and/or serve the residents and/or businesses of Alameda County.
- Recycling or composting-based projects are not eligible for funding.
- Projects that recycle waste materials into new materials, products, or compost do not qualify for funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- This grant is available to nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
- Organizations with open grants will need to contact current grant manager to assess repeat funding eligibility.
