Focus Areas

  • Building a Culture of Belonging: They focus on strengthening organizations and their programming to better serve the diverse needs of their community. For example, they support research, training, and implementation of programming that furthers diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through their local philanthropy, they also seek to increase Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) and LGBTQ+ representation in the public and nonprofit sectors by building a pipeline for inclusive leadership in Northwest Arkansas. They also seek to strengthen relationships between groups in their communities through access to arts and recreation, bridge-building, and allyship. They accept applications aligned with this focus area by invitation and through two open requests for proposals:
    • ARTS & RECREATION: Organizations that provide access to arts and recreation programs may apply through the open request for proposals.
    • BRIDGE BUILDING & ALLYSHIP: Organizations that engage community members in bridge building opportunities across lines of difference and/or foster allyship may apply through the open request for proposals.
  • Increasing Access to Healthier Food for All: They support programs that work to systematically improve access and availability to healthier food for underserved communities, including improving access to federal nutrition programs and evolving food recovery models. They also support collaboration between local nonprofits to meet the area’s long-term needs.
