Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation Grant Program

Dated: October 19, 2022

The Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation is accepting applications for both ‘Program’ and ‘Capital’ needs.

Donor Name: Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation

State: Texas

County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 04/01/2023

Size of the Grant: $10,000

Details:

The mission of The Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation is to encourage, foster, support and conduct activities and programs, which will benefit children residing within the State of Texas.

Focus

The focus of the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation is to support programs, projects and collaborative efforts that reach as many children as possible.

Goals

The goal of the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation is to assist children in their growth and development, build self-esteem, raise expectations and encourage innovation.

Funding Information

Program funding typically doesn’t exceed $10,000. Capital requests can be up to $50,000.

Criteria

  •  The Foundation makes grants to organizations that are exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code only. They will not make grants to individuals or for-profit organizations. In addition, the Foundation has a geographic limitation that requires that grant funds be used in the State of Texas.
  • The Foundation does not fund economic development, annual fund and fundraising event sponsorships, political or lobbying activities.  Requests for operating costs are acceptable so long as they relate specifically to one or more of the Foundation’s Program Goals.
  • The Foundation strongly encourages collaborative efforts with accountability and evaluation responsibilities clearly defined among the collaborators.
  • The Foundation has not established a minimum or a maximum amount for a grant proposal but typically makes small grants. They have rarely granted multi-year grant awards and discourage more than one grant application from any one organization in a given year.
  • As part of the evaluation process, Foundation staff may request an appointment to conduct a site visit. The purpose of the visit will be to tour the organization’s facilities and to meet with staff, trustees and constituencies of potential grantee organizations. Among the matters discussed will be the processes in place to collect data and evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed program. This will be a chance for Foundation staff to gain a better understanding of the potential grantee organization, its proposed project or program, see first-hand who will be served, and assess the capacity of the potential grantee to carry out its objectives. Visits are brief so do not feel the need to entertain Foundation staff in any way.
  • Grantee organizations are expected to follow-up with a report to the Foundation on how grant funds were used and the level of effectiveness of the grantee program.
