The Foundation serves as Horizon’s philanthropic arm by providing grants and other support to nonprofit organizations that closely align with their three funding pillars:
- Caring: As active members of the New Jersey community, they care about the health and well-being of all residents and their members. Under the Caring pillar, they support evidence-based preventive programs that promote a healthy lifestyle for vulnerable and underserved individuals, families and communities.
- Connecting: Their health is inextricably tied to where they live, learn, work and play. It’s shaped by their access to things like health care and a quality education. Under the Connecting pillar, they support programs that work to reduce disparities and remove barriers to good health.
- Creating: New Jersey arts and cultural community shines through individuals and their creativity. Under the Creating pillar, they are finding new ways to improve quality of life by supporting the vibrant art community that makes New Jersey a special place to live and work.
Funding Information
- Caring and Connecting grants range from $10,000 to $50,000.
- Creating grants are by invitation only and range from $5,000 to $15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey only considers requests:
- Submitted by organizations located in New Jersey that have tax-exempt classifications under Sections 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
- To fund state or regional offices of organizations with multiple chapters or multiple affiliates operating in New Jersey.
- To fund local chapters or affiliates of organizations with state or regional offices by invitation only.
