One goal of the Festivals Committee is to return money to the local community in the form of grants to nonprofit organizations. The Lazy Daze grants program is directed toward arts programs or projects that benefit Cary and its citizens. This year the committee is pleased to offer community groups $40,000 from the 46th annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival that took place on August 27 and 28, 2022.
To date, the Festivals Committee has awarded over $800,000 in grants to various non-profit organizations.
Priority is given based on the following criteria:
- Cultural art focused projects
- Projects that support overall Town of Cary initiatives
- Projects that support downtown Cary initiatives
Criteria
Organizations must be Cary-based non-profits (501 (c)3)) with a federal tax identification number. Organizations may submit one application describing a single project they wish to have funded. Cary based non-profits may collaborate with other Cary-based non-profits when submitting an application. However, one of the non-profit groups must be identified as the organization of record that will manage grant funds.

- Cary-based non-profits with a 501(c)(3) federal tax identification number Applications that are tailored towards specific art-based projects
- Projects based on the following criteria will be given priority according to the order.
- Cultural arts organizations or projects with a cultural arts focus
- Projects that support overall Town of Cary initiatives
- Projects that support downtown Cary initiatives
- Applications received that raise funds for school activities (booster clubs, PTA’s etc.) will be given lesser priority
