United Way of Southern Chautauqua County announces 2022-2024 Funding Cycle

United Way of Southern Chautauqua County is committed to supporting programs in the areas of Academic Success, Health & Independence, Ready Workforce, and Self-Sufficiency that provide opportunities for the community to thrive. If your agency or program promotes these goals, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County invites you to submit a Request for Proposals for the 2022-2024 funding cycle.

Funding Focus

  • Academic Success: Improve academic success by working with youth from cradle to graduation.
  • Health & Independence: Improve the health and independence of all vulnerable populations.
  • Ready Workforce: Increase the pool of workforce-ready individuals through supporting programs that provide opportunities for career exploration, education, and both soft and hard acquisition among young people and adults.
  • Self- Sufficiency: Increase the number of households who possess the skills and resources needed to be self-sufficient.

Minimum Funding Request

The minimum request for funding from United Way of Southern Chautauqua County is $7,500. The use of United Way funds must be outlined in the program budget and sustain ongoing support of program participants.

The funding will be for a period of two years starting July 1, 2022.

Expectations of Funded Programs & Community Partners

  • Programs that are chosen to receive funding will be required to sign a program funding agreement. An overview of the program funding agreement will be shared alongside the award letter for programs who are chosen to receive funding.
  • Funded programs will report about outcomes four times over the two-year funding period. At 6 and 18 months, programs will share an abbreviated report about their progress, while at 12 and 24 months, programs will share a complete report about their progress. Guidelines for these reports will be shared alongside the award letter for programs who are chosen to receive funding. Please refer to the timeline for reporting and important meeting dates.
  • Updates or anticipated changes to the program will be shared with United Way staff in a timely manner.
  • Requests for changes in how funds will be spent must be sent to United Way for approval.
  • The United Way logo is displayed or acknowledgment that the organization receives United Way funding is communicated within your promotional items used for the program.
  • Conduct a United Way Employee Giving Campaign and encourage support for United Way at your organization.
  • Provide speakers from your organization as requested for events to help UWSCC educate the community about its work.
  • Maintain an up to date, accurate profile.
  • Commit to attended quarterly community partner roundtable meetings.
  • Participate in any required training(s).

Any agency in Southern Chautauqua County (see zip codes below) that is registered as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, providing programming that aligns with the following Strategic AIMS/Outcomes:

  • Improve academic success by working directly with youth from cradle to career. Improve the health and independence of vulnerable populations.
  • Increase the ready workforce by addressing the soft and hard skill gaps among young people and adults.
  • Increase the number of families with the necessary life skills to be self-sufficient.
