This grant program is being administered in partnership with the County of Ventura and the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF), which will administer a separate application process for non-profit or fiscally sponsored arts organizations that wish to apply for funding.
Funding Information
The program will provide $100,000 to independent artists and art projects through one-time grants of between $1,000 and $5,000.
Eligible Use of Grant Funds
Eligible use of grant funds for independent artists include all expenses that support the creative capacity of artists, including:
- Compensation for artists’ time
- Equipment, materials, and/or supplies
- The exhibition or performance of work
- Training/education
Eligible use of grant funds for independent art projects include expenses related to the development and creation of arts and culture based projects in Ventura County, including:
Eligibility Criteria
Independent artists must:
- Have a documented artistic work history of at least three years between 2017 and 2023
- Reside in Ventura County
- Serve, inspire, or support the Ventura County community
Art projects must:
- Be led by an independent artist meeting the above criteria
- Occur in Ventura County
Initial artist and art project eligibility will be determined by Ventura County Arts Council (VCAC) staff prior to application review.
