Through Youth Philanthropy Program, local high school students discuss, debate and decide how to leverage philanthropy for maximum community impact. They meet with applicant organizations and award grants to nonprofits at an annual awards party. Applying for a Youth Philanthropy grant is a great way to introduce their organization to local youth and to help young people understand the role of nonprofits in their community.

Funding Information
Each local high school may award up to $5,000 in grant funding. Applicants may request up to $3,000, and requests may be partially funded.
Eligibility
To be eligible for funding, an organization must be a 501(c)(3), fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3), a governmental entity, or other IRS recognized charitable entity serving Teton County, Wyoming. Grant funds must be used in Teton County, Wyoming.
Guidelines and Requirement
- Grant funds must be used in Teton County, Wyoming.
- Each local high school may award up to $5,000 in grant funding. Applicants may request between $500 and $3,000, and requests may be partially funded. (As a point of reference, last year’s average Youth Philanthropy grant was $1,800.)
- Organizations must submit a brief written application and a 5-minute video detailing the project. Required content for the video is described within the application.
- Tip: video submissions need not be fancy nor expensive to produce. Many nonprofits use pre-existing footage or still photos to create theirYouth Philanthropy videos, and others make very basic videos using a smartphone and a single presenter. Grant success does not correlate with cinematic “bells and whistles;” content is weighed significantly

- Project Budget
- Provide only the budget associated with your proposed project, not your organization’s operating budget (unless requested).
- Enter figures into the budget table provided; do not use a different format or template.
- Your numbers must net to $0.
- Multiple funding sources and partnerships are looked upon favorably.
- Application narrative, project budget, and video file must be submitted into this Dropbox folder (link forthcoming) by 5pm MDT on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Materials should be labeled as follows: OrgName_Narrative+Budget (submit inWord format, not PDF), OrgName_Video.
- Applicants may be invited to meet with the student reviewers to clarify and/or expound upon their proposals between January and March 2022.
- Grants will be announced and awarded in April 2022.
