Cultivate provides ongoing learning and support for local fundraisers of color through two mutually supportive components:
- Cultivate Coaching offers personalized coaching and opportunities to learn, grow, and advance the impact of BIPOC-led organizations in Sacramento and Yolo counties. Cohort members will have monthly check-ins with their coaches and attend presentations covering topics aimed to advance their organizations’ goals.
- Cultivate Community is a regular convening for people of color who are working to raise funds for nonprofits. All Cultivators, past and present, are welcome to join Cultivate Community happy hours to connect with peers in the nonprofit space and share insights, resources, and quality time.
This year, Cultivate will consist of monthly meetings, in addition to one-on-one coaching for each participating individual from a Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC)-led organization. These sessions will be spread out between October 2024 through June 2025, and may be supplemented by additional events and activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Due to limited space they are currently prioritizing individuals from the following organizations to participate in Cultivate:
- BIPOC-led organizations;
- BIPOC-serving organizations;
- Organizations based either in Sacramento or Yolo county;
- Organizations focus on reducing health and racial disparities in the community; and
- Organizations with budgets under $250,000 annually.
