The Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) is inviting applications for the Social impact’s 10th Fellowship Class to provide select social innovators with two years of pro bono support and in-depth insight, as well as continued alumnus support.

Fellows and their teams receive:

  • Extraordinary Expertise
    • Discuss your most pressing strategic, operational, and technical questions with worldclass experts on every topic, including geographic expansion, user research, regulatory landscapes, industry best practices, and more. Your entire team – not just the individual named as the Fellow – will have access to GLG’s insight network, at no cost.
  • Dedicated Support
    • Team Partner with dedicated GLG employees who will help connect you to the right experts and ensure that you have the insights to pursue your biggest goals. GLG also provide Fellowship alumni with continued project support – their two-year Fellowships are often just the beginnings of their partnerships with GLG.
  • Cohort of Social
    • Innovators Build meaningful connections with like-minded social innovators in the GLG Social Impact Fellowship community. GLG hosts an annual convening and quarterly virtual roundtables for you to engage with these other talented leaders

Fellow organizations work with GLG to engage with top experts on a broad range of strategic, operational, and technical questions and challenges. Here are a few examples of topics the Fellow organizations have discussed with GLG experts:

    • Establishing operations in new countries and navigating relevant regulations.
    • Demographic research for understanding populations in new markets.
  • Finance, Funding, and Pricing
    • Budgeting and capital allocation in uncertain market conditions.
    • Strategies for diversifying fundraising and cultivating partnerships for sustainable growth.
    • Incorporating cryptocurrencies into financial stability plans and fundraising strategies.
    • Understanding trends and market influences to determine earned revenue pricing.
  • Branding, Marketing, and Communications
    • Executive communications and media presence.
    • Social media and digital communications strategies.
    • Best practices for effective rebranding strategies and marketing campaigns.
    • Communicating new ideas to different audiences.
  • Organizational and People Management
    • Coordinating virtual communication across multiple regions.
    • Best practices in subsidiary creation.
    • Founder-to-Executive Director transitions and succession planning.
    • Maintaining organizational values and culture in rapidly scaling environments.
    • Benchmarking equitable and competitive compensation and benefit packages.
  • Technology, Product Development, and Data
    • User experience research to inform product development.
    • Best practices for financial product integration into mobile money platforms.
    • Machine learning and data science best practices.
    • Virtual event and fundraising technology.
    • Understanding usage of data science in public health.

Eligibility Criteria

  • When assessing applications for the Fellowship, GLG considers the organization’s social impact, future goals, operational capacity, and need for the expertise that GLG offers.
  • GLG welcomes applications from organizations working across all issue areas, including but not limited to education, environment, global health, and social justice. This year, GLG is also focused on supporting organizations providing humanitarian relief in response to natural disasters and violent conflicts. GLG selects registered nonprofits, social enterprises, and hybrid organizations that are:
    • Driving impactful social change.
      • Fellow organizations advance powerful missions and can demonstrate the positive impact of their work on the communities they serve.
    • Excited to leverage GLG’s unique platform.
      • Fellows and their teams are eager to learn from experts and use one-of-a-kind insights to advance their missions. They are committed to embedding GLG into their strategies, workflows, and decision-making processes.
    • Positioned to make the most of a partnership with GLG.
      • Fellow organizations are past the early development stage, with leadership ready to pursue ambitious goals and scale their impact significantly. They have been in operation for at least three years and employ at least five full-time staff members.
