Entries are now being accepted for the Energy Globe Awards to present successful sustainable projects to a global audience and to demonstrate that for most of the environmental problems feasible solutions are already available.

Details:

Participation is open to all projects which save the environment like resource conservation, improving air and water quality, energy efficiency and renewable energies and related areas. Also projects that focus on the creation of awareness in these areas will be eligible to participate.

Award Categories

  • The categories are Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Youth and the new special category Sustainable Start-Up.
  • Cooperation partner in the new special category is UNIDO.
    • Category Earth
      • In this category they are looking for projects that contribute to conservational activities and sustainable actions. The projects can focus on topics like building materials, building efficiency, energy plants, reforestation, soil fertility, sustainable agriculture etc.
    • Category Fire
      • They are looking for projects that involve energy production, demonstrate use of renewable energy sources, focus on energy efficiency and optimization, efficient energy distribution and transportation.
    • Category Water
      • Projects in areas such as drinking water supply, domestic water, irrigation, protection of waterways, shipping, and treatment of waste water can be submitted in this category.
    • Category Air
      • In this category they are looking for projects that improve air quality and avoid CO2 emissions. It includes projects involving optimization of combustion processes, reduction of greenhouse gases and emissions, indoor air quality, etc.
    • Category Youth
      • Any measure that promotes environmental education, sustainable thinking and action among young people and any environmental activities implemented by youth fit into this category.

  • In each participating country, the best project is awarded with the National Energy Globe Award. This winning project is presented in the global online platform of Energy Globe and also in the national media.
  • The best projects will be honored as part of a ceremony that will be broadcast worldwide as well as featured in the international media. International winning projects for the award categories of Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth will also each receive a cash award.
  • If you are interested, Energy Globe is also able to connect you to potential investors.

Who can participate?

  • Any company, organization (i.e. NGO, club, school, university), individual or public authority that contributes to climate change and other environmental issues.
  • They award projects in the categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth. They are looking for projects that provide solutions to air, soil and water pollution, apply renewables and increase energy efficiency, demonstrate sustainable use of the planet’s resources, and contribute to the environmental education.
  • An applicant can submit more than one project. A project can be submitted in any country, regardless of whether they have awarded a project in this country before.
