Through this competition, you will gain experience in real-life journalism and practice your writing skills. All participants will also have a chance to have their news article published in the newspaper, which has readers in over 100 countries across the world!
Article Topic Categories
- Both Competition Divisions must enter articles that fall under one of the following Topic Categories. Regardless of the Article Topic Category you choose, your article must be focused on a positive and uplifting good news story. You can submit as many article entries as you want.
- Community Service: Write a good news article about any individual or group who are helping your community.
- Technological Innovations: For this topic category, you can write about any tech innovation that is making a positive impact.
- Sustainability: Building a sustainable future is on all the minds. Enter this division to share how people in your community are working towards a sustainable future.
- Science: In this category, you can report on any good news story that is related to any field of science.
- Student Leaders: For this category, write and report on any student initiatives or leaders who are working to make a difference in the world.
- Education: Education is a vital need to build a better future for all. For this category, you can write about any good news story related to education.

- They have two competition divisions: High School/Secondary School Student Division and College/University Student Division. Each division will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner.

Competition Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school (secondary school) or college (university)
- Entry reports a positive and uplifting news story
- Non-fiction news story no older than 1 year
- Article length between 500 to 1000 words
- Must include at least one picture/video.
