Details:

The 3% Occupancy Tax Program seeks to expand Chautauqua County’s visibility on a regional scale creating interest in, demand for, and awareness of the tourism and recreation opportunities within the County. Projects should show the potential for increasing overall visitation, especially overnight stays, within Chautauqua County. Your project should also emphasize a new or significantly advanced effort into niche experiences that will enhance visitor interest in the County. Projects should involve cooperative or collaborative efforts among communities, attractions, or events. The potential for your project to leverage public/private investment, and capability for long term sustainability is also essential.

    • Advertising for a new service, event, or destination that will bring people into the County
    • Advertisement or development of new agritourism product
    • Planning/feasibility study for development of a new event or attraction
    • Guided tours
    • Advertisement or development of a recreational attraction/destination
  • Attraction Enhancement & Placemaking
    • Public Art and/or placemaking to represent or highlight a particular place, event, or person
    • Improvement or enhancement of an attraction/destination specific to tourism or recreation
    • Agritourism product enhancement
    • Beautification, signage, or enhancement of a specific attraction(s).

Funding Information

Awards up to $20,000.

Grant Period

Funding for a project is limited to a maximum of three years.
