The mission of EPHT is to support organizations that provide quality healthcare services to St. Louisans. The Foundation seek to create partnerships with effective, community-based organizations that work to improve the lives of others through access to healthcare.
The Trust awards responsive grants to area nonprofits seeking critical dollars in the following areas.
- Primary care – pediatric and general medicine
- Direct Services
- Health Screenings
- Immunizations
- Health Education
- Access to physician specialists (e.g., orthopedics, cardiology, etc.)
- Access to other medical professionals such as home health workers, hospice workers, physical therapists, nurses, community health workers and others
- Routine inpatient and outpatient hospital care
- Mental health
- Direct Services
- Substance abuse including opioid use
- Dentistry
EPHT focuses its grant making on serving those living in poverty, including children, adults, older adults, people whose first language is not English, people with disabilities, and those living in neighborhoods of poverty. EPHT’s priority focus is on organizations and programs working in the City of St. Louis and close-in suburbs; however, if an organization in the six-county Metro region meets all other criteria – falls within the identified areas for funding and serves a high percentage of people living in poverty – the Trustees may consider the grant application.
