- The total amount of funding currently available for 2023/24 EBCVIDS proposals is $950,000. Funding that is not awarded during the 2023/24 funding cycle will be held in reserve for future funding cycles, subject to the availability of appropriations.
- Funding for the EBCVIDS program comes from the City’s Measure U Fund. Measure U was first passed by Sacramento voters in 2012 as a temporary 0.5% sales tax to restore and protect essential City services. By referendum, Sacramento voters made Measure U permanent in 2018 and increased it to a 1% sales tax. As outlined in the 2023/24 Approved Budget, Measure U provides funding for ongoing programs and services for Affordable Housing, Arts/Creative Edge, Climate Action, Community Investment, Community Response, Homelessness, Inclusive Economic Development, Library, Public Safety, and Youth.
