The objective of this Notice of Funding Opportunity is to obtain Technical and Implementation Services to enhance Conservation Technical Assistance and Farm Bill Program Delivery across Maine, focusing on climate change mitigation, equity, and urban agriculture.
Maine NRCS would like to receive proposals related to one or more of the topic areas below for Conservation Planning and Implementation of Technical Assistance. Proposals which include emphasis on working with, or benefitting underserved communities are encouraged and will be considered during the evaluation process. Examples of underserved communities include historically underserved communities, beginning farmers and ranchers, socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers, limited resource farmers and ranchers, and veteran farmers and ranchers.
- Forestry Implementation
- Conduct outreach and/or provide technical assistance to eligible forest landowners and producers to plan and implement forestry conservation practices on small acreage.
- Urban Implementation and Outreach
- Conduct outreach and/or provide technical assistance and implementation of conservation practices in urban environments and/or community gardens. Implementation services may include the planning and installation of some urban conservation practices.
- Wildlife Habitat Enhancement
- Conduct outreach and/or provide technical assistance to eligible forestry landowners and producers to restore, enhance, and create habitat for wildlife species with an emphasis on at-risk/declining wildlife species and associated habitats.
- Remote Technology Utilization
- Assist NRCS planners and specialist in utilizing unmanned aerial vehicle techniques for planning, implementation, and verification of conservation practices.
Funding Information
- The Federal funding agency expects to award approximately $500,000.
- The estimated funding floor for this opportunity is $25,000, and the estimated funding ceiling is $250,000.
Project Period
Projects may be between 1 and 5 years in duration.
