Entries open for 2023 “”Doodle for Google”” Contest

Dated: January 18, 2023

Doodle for Google is an annual art contest open to students in grades K-12. Students are invited to create their own Google Doodle for the chance to have it featured on Google.com, as well as win some great scholarships and tech packages for their schools.

Donor Name: Google

State: All States

County: All Counties

Territory: Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands

Type of Grant: Contest

Deadline: 03/07/2023

Details:

Doodles are meant to surprise and delight people when they visit Google.com. Past Doodles have celebrated some of the most brilliant, talented, and passionate people throughout history. The Doodle for Google contest offers students K-12 an opportunity to display their own Doodle creativity on Google.com and win some awesome prizes while doing it!

Prizes

Win a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 tech package for your school/non-profit organization, and your artwork displayed for a day (24 hours) on Google.com!

National Winner

One National Winner’s artwork will be displayed on Google.com for one day (24 hours). He or she will also receive:

  • A $30,000 college scholarship
  • A $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization
  • Google hardware
  • Fun Google swag

National Finalists

The four National Finalists who do not become the National Winner will have their Doodles featured on the Doodle for Google gallery. Each National Finalist will receive:

  • A $5,000 college scholarship
  • Google hardware
  • Fun Google swag

State and Territory Winners

54 State and Territory Winners will have their Doodles featured on the Doodle for Google gallery and will receive:

  • Google hardware
  • A congratulatory message from Google
  • Fun Google swag

Competition Levels

  • 54 State and Territory Winners
    • The Guest Judges and Google Doodlers will select the best Doodle from each of the 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands as the State and Territory winners. These 54 State and Territory Winners will be displayed in an online gallery on the Doodle for Google website.
  • Five National Finalists
    • For a period of 5 days, the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands will vote for their favorite Doodle from the 54 State and Territory Winners. These votes will help determine the National Finalists.
  • One National Winner
    • A panel of Google employees will choose one of the five National Finalists and announce the National Winner in June.

Eligibility Criteria

Parents, teachers, nonprofits and after school programs are welcome to enter artwork on behalf of students K-12. When teachers and after school programs enter Doodles on behalf of their students, the entry form must be signed by each student’s parent or guardian. Teachers can enter multiple Doodles at one time, but only one original Doodle per student. Regardless of the entry channel, the $50,000 technology award will go to the winning student’s school.

All students entering the contest must be enrolled in a U.S. based school (including homeschool) or a school in Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Children of military personnel abroad can enter this year, and will be judged with applications from their home state.
