United Way of Rockbridge (UWR) provides a leadership role in improving the quality of life of the people in the cities, towns, and unincorporated areas of Rockbridge County, Virginia by assessing needs, raising and allocating funds for charitable purposes, and ensuring the appropriate use of those resources. These purposes should ensure equity as to education, health, and financial well-being without regard to race, ethnicity, or gender in furtherance of achieving an inclusive community in which there is dignity and equal opportunity for all.
The United Way of Rockbridge, Lexington & Buena Vista goal is to assist agencies that serve to support their residents, as well as agencies that have programs and projects related to the UWR community impact initiative of strengthening education, beginning with early childhood.
UWR is committed to collaborating with the charitable community to improve the quality of life for all residents in Rockbridge County, Lexington and Buena Vista. They strive to be a leader in assessing community needs; to raise and allocate resources for other organizations; and to ensure the appropriate use of those resources. UWR’s vision is to ensure equity in education, health, and financial well-being for all Rockbridge community members.
Eligibility Criteria
United Way of Rockbridge funds one-time special projects or programs for 501(c)(3) area nonprofits addressing long range needs for area children or adults, including special equipment needs and/or facilities.
