Call for Proposals for Creative Partnerships Grants – Connecticut

Dated: August 3, 2022

Creative Partnerships grants will provide funding for collaborative efforts/exchanges between eligible entities.

Donor Name: Northwest Connecticut Arts Council

State: Connecticut

Town: Selected Towns

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 10/31/2022

Details:

The goal is NOT to force entities into engineering unsustainable programs. Quite the opposite. They hope that this opportunity will encourage applicants to seek out partnerships and innovative solutions that will increase the likelihood of sustained growth and impact. This program is about connecting the arts and culture sector to untapped resources within the arts and culture community AND to resources that exist beyond their sector that can promote and support the arts, and engage their communities more fully and purposefully.

They want to invest in the arts community, their recovery from the effects of COVID-19, and continued growth in order to:

  • Leverage the restorative power of the arts to support the holistic health of their region.
  • Improve access to and engagement with the arts – specifically amongst underserved populations (those whose opportunities to experience the arts are limited by ethnicity, economics, geography, or disability).

Eligibility Criteria

Primary applicants and all award activities must be located within the 25 town-region of Northwest CT. “Creative Partners” may be located outside this region.

  • 501(c)(3) Nonprofits: Arts organizations, cultural institutions, schools, and social service organizations are invited to apply or collaborate with grant applicants for the purpose of expanding access to meaningful artistic encounters. Note: Organizations submitting applications MUST have existing arts programming. Entities who do not, can participate as “creative partners” with an arts entity who submits the application.
  • Individual artists: Artists of all disciplines and backgrounds are invited to apply, including art therapists.
  • Funds can only be given in exchange for work performed (workshops, classes, projects…etc.), not as a general acknowledgement for previous work or relief for financial hardship.
  • Units of state or local government: Units of state or local government are invited to collaborate with grant applicants for the purpose of expanding access to meaningful artistic encounters.
  • Federally recognized Tribal Governments: Tribal Governments are invited to collaborate with grant applicants for the purpose of expanding access to meaningful artistic encounters.
  • Service Area: Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Burlington, Colebrook, Cornwall, Falls Village/Canaan, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, New Milford, Norfolk, North Canaan, Plymouth, Roxbury, Salisbury/Lakeville, Sharon, Thomaston, Torrington, Warren, Washington, and Winchester/Winsted.
