Denali Borough Code Chapter 3.21.231 provides the emergency services and public safety grant program to assist eligible nonprofit emergency services and public safety organizations, including fire departments and emergency response organizations, by providing supplemental funds for local programs and services that will benefit citizens of the Denali Borough. Organizations providing non-emergency response related services will be eligible if over 50% of their operations are dedicated to Fire and EMS services.

Program Guidelines
- Grant programs must be administered by an eligible nonprofit organization within the state of Alaska.
- Grants are subject to an application process. Items to be included in the application packet:
- An application form prescribed by the borough
- Copy of the current State of Alaska Nonprofit Corporation Entity Details for the organization
- Copy of the organization’s IRS nonprofit determination letter
- Minutes from the applicant organization public meeting(s) recording board approval of the proposed program or service
- A copy of the organization’s most recent annual run report.
- Grant applications must be received at the borough office or postmarked by the application deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- Grant programs will not be funded retroactively.
- Grant funding shall be on a reimbursable basis. Direct vendor purchase (DVP) is available under the nonprofit grant program. Grant funds may not be used for indirect purchases for gift cards, contractor cards, or other lines of credit.
