The Mid Wisconsin Foundation Legacy Fund was established within the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin when the Mid Wisconsin Foundation was dissolved in 2013 as a result of the bank’s merger with Nicolet Bank.
An advisory committee reviews applications and makes recommendations to the board of directors of the Community Foundation regarding grant distribution annually.
Focus Areas
Requests are limited to support the following focus areas:
- Health and human services
- Community, cultural, and economic development
- Educational and vocational programs
- Environmental enhancement
Funding Information
Awards generally are not more than $1,000, but exceptions may be made in certain situations.
Eligibility Criteria
Requests for funding are limited to tax-exempt organizations that serve Wisconsin communities where Mid Wisconsin Bank once operated:
- Abbotsford
- Medford
- Rhinelander
- Colby
- Minocqua
- RibLake
- Eagle River
- Neillsville
- RibMountain
- Fairchild
- Phillips
- Wausau
- Proposals are accepted for specifically identified projects and programs that will benefit nonprofit organizations located in communities formerly served by Mid Wisconsin Bank.
The Fund does not support
- Political or strictly religious purposes
- Churches, schools, or political groups
- Individuals
- Organizations that receive state or federal funding
