Applications for grants must be qualified tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) charitable organizations in the State of Hawaii. The Trust strives for the perpetual care and enhancement of the Tong Wo Tong Chinese Cemetery in Keauhou, Hawaii; and is intended to provide financial help for the promotion of Chinese culture and preservation of the history of Chinese in the State of Hawaii. The primary emphasis is on programs and projects in Kona, secondarily on the Island of Hawaii, and third throughout the remainder of the State.
The purpose of the Gee Hing Chinese Company Charitable Trust is for the perpetual care, promotion, enhancement and preservation of the Tong Wo Tong Chinese Cemetery historical site located in Keauhou, Hawaii and for the promotion of Chinese culture and preservation of the history of Chinese in North and South Kona, Hawaii.
