Regardless of type, all grants must adhere to the following guidelines:
- The organization must operate within Lake County.
- Funds received must be used in Lake County – focused on the Mount Dora Area.
- The organization must have a general membership, which is open to all segments of the community. Apolitical and not religion specified.
- The organization should be charitable-minded.
- The organization should have proven its effectiveness and have a broad base of community support.
- All requests must be authorized by the organization potentially receiving the grant, and that organization must agree to report on the use of any grant funds received.
- All requests from local schools must be authorized by the current Principal.
- Any request that benefits a city or county-owned facility or asset must be approved by the appropriate official manager.
- Only one request per twelve (12) months, per organization is accepted for consideration.
- If your organization has received a grant each year for three consecutive years, they ask you sit out the following year’s three grant cycles.
