Goals
UWBC seeks to invest in programs that achieve the following goals:
- Individuals and families increase income/wages.
- Individuals and families build savings and grow assets.
- ALICE households meet basic household expenses.
Timeframe
Funds will be awarded for FY2022/2023, beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023, with the possibility of renewal for two additional years.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant Agencies must submit an application that addresses the category/scope stated in this Request for Application. If the application does not address an identified issue outlined in this RFA, then it may be rejected as non-responsive by UWBC staff.
- Applicant Agency must be non-profit agencies that have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be categorized as organizations for a charitable cause—most commonly categorized as 501(c) (3) organizations.
- Applicant Agencies must submit a complete application online, including all attachments that are applicable to the Applicant Agency’s status.
- Programs that provide services to children, seniors, or other vulnerable populations in which background screening/licensing is required:
- All staff working in the program must comply with Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting requirements in Florida Statutes and Broward County background screening requirements, as applicable. The program must maintain staff personnel files that reflect that a screening result was received and reviewed to determine employment eligibility prior to employment.
- An Attestation or Affidavit of Good Moral Character must be completed annually for each employee, volunteer, and subcontractor personnel who work in direct contact with children. Program providers will be required to re-screen each employee, volunteer, and/or subcontractor every five years.
- School-based programs must follow all screening requirements as required by the School Board of Broward County.
- The application must comply with the Fatal and Critical Flaw Checklist.
