Some funding is available for artists to conduct programs in private and charter schools. Additional support is provided by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Arts Council is the largest funder of arts education in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.

Eligibility Criteria
- Individual artists and arts & cultural organizations with an EIN (Employer Identification Number). If an organization does not have an EIN they must secure an Arts Council Member Organization to serve as their fiscal agent.
- Applicants may apply for one (1) Wells Fargo Arts-In-Education Grant per fiscal year.
- Applicants should demonstrate an ability to successfully communicate in a school environment with children.
- Artists/presenters working in a classroom setting should not only demonstrate strong artistic accomplishments but should be trained and/or experienced presenters/educators.
- Schools are not eligible to apply.
