Many nonprofits don’t have a grant writer on staff or the capacity to hire a contract grant writer to develop and submit health-related grants. This award provides help for nonprofits with funding to contract a grant writer to create and submit health-related grants. Grant recipient organizations use the funding to apply to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, local community foundations, Health Resources and Services Administration, and other organizations.

Eligibility Criteria
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation welcome applications from Michigan-based, nonprofit community organizations. Award funds are restricted to proposal development costs, such as technical assistance, freelance proposal writers and related proposal development costs.
Projects for Proposal Development Award grants are ineligible if:
- The proposal has already been completed
- The applicant is a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan employee or an immediate family member of an employee. Applicants who are employees of any BCBSM affiliate or who are immediate family members also are ineligible
