The mission of the Ed Bradley Fellowship is to identify and rectify the under-representation of African-American males in newsrooms across the country. There is value in people from all backgrounds being attuned to this lack of representation and the disparities that may result from it. The support of diverse allies is critical to effecting meaningful change toward equitable representation in newsrooms.
Who may apply?
- The Ed Bradley Fellowship welcomes all U.S. college students who appreciate the mission to increase the representation of Black males in journalism to apply, regardless of their identity or background. They particularly encourage Black males with aligned interests and career goals to apply. Students must have completed their freshman year by the summer 2025.
- Twenty students will be chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants to attend this workshop in June 2025. To ensure the economic diversity of workshop participants – program instruction, housing, meals, and transportation costs to attend the workshop are provided for every participating student.
