The Cultural Council believes that a vibrant arts and cultural sector is essential to the county’s economic vitality, enhances its appeal as a premier tourist destination, and enriches the community’s quality of life. Central to this vision are the county’s professional artists, who serve as cultural ambassadors, sharing their creativity with residents and visitors alike and helping to showcase Palm Beach County as a vibrant and inspiring destination.
Funding Information
Ten fellowships in the amount of $10,000 each will be awarded.
Grant Period
Fellowship activities must occur between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027 as determined by the applicant.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must be a professional artist who has been working in the arts for at least ten years (does not necessarily need to be consecutive years or in the same art form). The “arts” includes the fields of dance, theatre, media arts, music, literature, visual arts, folk arts, or multi-disciplinary art forms.
- You must have lived in Palm Beach County for a minimum of three consecutive years at the date of application. Applicants will provide proof of residency in the application submission.
- You must have a demonstrable exhibition, publishing, or performance history that clearly indicates your active and sustained pursuit of a career as a creative professional.
- You must be willing, through your fellowship experience, to serve as an ambassador for the cultural sector of Palm Beach County.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated according to the following:
- The quality of the artistic work
- The strength of the proposed fellowship activities and its relation to their work
- The intended impact on the applicant and her/his work.
