Free to pursue their creative activities, this fellowship empowers artists to take risks and allows their unique voice and vision to flourish. The SFLX Artist Fellowship is funded and supported by The ARTS Council’s Endowment.

Eligibility Criteria
- Artists of any discipline and residing in The ARTS Council’s service region of Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, or Tioga County for a minimum of two years are eligible to apply. ARTS Council Artist Members residing outside these counties for a minimum of two years are also eligible to apply.
- Artists must also be 18 years or older and cannot be enrolled in a full time, degree-seeking program.
- Artists applying to NYSCA or ARTS Council administered grant programs are still eligible to apply.
Award Criteria
- Fellowships are awarded based upon artistic and/or cultural vision and the impact of the fellowship on an artist’s professional livelihood.
- Additional consideration is given to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or Folk & Traditional artists, artists that explore new creative techniques, contents, and concepts, and artists engaged in their community.
