Eligibility Criteria
- The Literary Society of the Southwest funds 501(c)(3) programs to improve the ability to read and write for children and youth from birth through 12th grade.
- The applicant must provide programs and services within Arizona.
- The applicant must be a public charity exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Funding is provided for program/project expenses.

- Endowment, capital, building campaigns
- Food and beverage costs
- Fundraising events or sponsorships
- Grant-making programs that distribute funds to other non-profit programs (pass-through)
- Individuals or individual scholarships
- Lobbying
- Multi-year grants

- Programs that promote a particular religious faith or political program
- School districts.
