2024 Artists Work Grant Program – Indiana

Dated: November 30, 2023

The Artists Work grant program provides project funding to individual artists or a group of artists to produce artworks (visual, fine craft, media, performance (including music), and literary arts) that conclude with an exhibit or performance within Hamilton County.

Donor Name: Arts Build

State: Indiana

County: Hamilton County (IN)

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 12/21/2023

Size of the Grant: $1000 to $10,000

Grant Duration: 1 Year

Details:

Artist(s) may work in conjunction with non-profit arts organizations as well as non-profit community organizations. This grant arose from the sudden loss of audiences, jobs, and patrons experienced by the region’s arts industry due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with the goal of providing economic stimulus that benefits both the creative sector and the public realm.

Grant funding was made possible through the generous financial support of Footprint Foundation, Lyndhurst Foundation, and ArtsBuild’s individual donors.

Goals

  • Provide project funding to individual artists and a group of artists.
    • Please Note: Artists may work in conjunction with non-profit arts organizations as well as nonprofit community organizations.
  • Infuse the local creative economy with various project-related purchases tied to the creation, installation, and documentation of art projects.
  • Produce artworks for Chattanooga’s public realm that:
    • Enhance and animate outdoor or indoor public spaces.
    • Provide access to a diversity of artists and artistic experiences.
    • Elevate the role artists play in connecting people and places.
    • Open up arts experiences for community members most often underserved in this realm.
  • Create shared experiences that prompt hope, healing, and connection for Chattanoogans.
