Purpose
The Community Foundation of Marquette County is interested in funding community impact projects/services that empower local organizations and individuals to address community challenges and opportunities. Eligible projects generally fall within these categories, but not limited to: region specific, youth, education, environmental, arts, volunteer recruitment, music, women/girls, health and wellness, clean energy, homelessness prevention, recreation, community development, social services and all-around improvement of life within Marquette County. Your Community Foundation is here to support effective and innovative approaches that address community needs to benefit all residents.
Funding Information
Grant funding is limited and varies depending on the source of funding. Maximum grant amounts should not exceed $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
The Foundation welcomes grant applications from the Marquette County area or outside Marquette County if a significant number of people to be served reside within Marquette County. Applicants must be tax exempt according to Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, an educational institution, governmental unit, or churches (grant request must serve the general community). Individuals with community-focused initiatives can also apply, but must work with a registered public charity or public entity to serve as their fiscal agent (to receive the funding).
Successful applications will be for projects which:
- Promote development or strengthening of community assets
- Have a positive long-term impact on program participants/community
- Are innovative and imaginative
- Lead to prevention of recurring need
- Promote collaboration/cooperation among area organizations with related or supportive missions
- Are financially sustainable without continuing grant funding
- Preference and priority will be given to new projects.
Ineligibility
The Foundation does not fund grants for:
- Individuals
- Legislative or political purposes
- Sponsorships
- Loans
- Capital Campaigns
- Religious purposes.
