The PARC Foundation is proud to partner with and support local community organizations dedicated to preserving Thurston County’s quality of life by enhancing parks, arts, recreation, and cultural activities.
Funding Categories
- Parks:
- Stewardship Fund Grants from $500 to $2500 ($5000 total available) support small projects that preserve, protect, enhance and improve the city & county parks – adding signage, making trails safer, improving access. These grants are designed to support the infrastructure of the recreation network.
- Arts:
- Underwriting Fund (Resiliency) Grants from $500 to $5000 ($25,000 total available) supports installations, performances, festivals, events, productions – all types of artistic programs and projects throughout the county.
- Artistic Venue Support Grants from $1,000 to $5,000 ($10,000 total available) assist non-profit performance venues (theaters, music halls, dance spaces, etc) with sustaining and enhancing facilities, as well as offering basic operating support. Consideration is given to the venue’s impact and reach within the community.
- Visual Arts, Exhibitions, Installation Support Grants from $1,000 to $5,000 ($5,000 total available) support public art projects, including commissioning, location, installation, and exhibition expenses.
- Recreation:
- Youth Scholarship Fund – Grants from $500 to $5,000 ($15,000 total available) support programs offering scholarships to subsidize or eliminate participation fees for youth involved in healthy activities. These grants are primarily awarded to key community programs, not individual scholarships.
- Sports Fund – Youth & Adult – Grants from $500 to $2,500 ($5,000 total available) help cover expenses like field rentals, uniforms, and supplies, removing barriers to participation in various sports for community members of all ages.
- Keep Fit Fund Grants from $500 to $2,500 ($5,000 total available) support programs designed to increase physical activity among specific community groups, such as through fun runs, walks, exercise programs, and nutrition initiatives.
- Culture:
- Festivals & Events Grants from $1,000 to $10,000 ($30,000 total available) support community-enriching events, ranging from theatrical seasons and musical series to one-day festivals.
- Historic, Heritage, & Cultural Projects Grants from $500 to $5,000 ($5,000 total available) support educational, interpretive, or celebratory projects that connect to the community’s historical and cultural significance.
- South Sound Journalism Fund This fund supports specific journalistic efforts, projects, and media outlets providing and strengthening local coverage.
