Initially established as a response the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emergency Response Fund enables the Foundation to respond quickly to the pressing needs of the community. The fund provides one-time emergency grants to nonprofit organizations that work to provide essential services (food, shelter, health care) to Wayne County, Ohio, citizens during times of crisis.

Eligibility Criteria
By law, the Wayne County Community Foundation can only make grants to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit public organizations.
Ineligibility
The Foundation normally does NOT approve grants to support:
- Deficit financing;
- Endowment funds;
- Annual appeals or membership contributions;
- Conferences, field trips, travel or recognition events;
- The Foundation does not support religious organizations for religious purposes. However, WCCF does support non-religious programs like hunger centers, job training or childcare.
- No scholarships may be granted from this fund.
