The Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation is dedicated to making Ross County a great place to live, work, play, and raise the families. They proudly support nonprofit organizations whose work strengthens the community and improves the quality of life.
NEW in 2025 – Priority on Homelessness
- Homelessness has become one of Ross County’s most urgent challenges.
- This year, they will give special consideration to projects and initiatives that meaningfully address homelessness, including, but not limited to:
- Prevention efforts (keeping individuals and families housed)
- Shelter and transitional housing solutions
- Wraparound services such as job training, mental health support, or substance abuse treatment
- Innovative collaborations between agencies
- They welcome creative, practical ideas that demonstrate measurable benefits for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Eligibility Criteria
They award grants, based on available funds, to eligible 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that:
- Serve a public purpose
- Deliver projects or programs with broad community impact
- Address pressing community needs or opportunities
- Align with the mission and values
The grants may support projects, programs, or initiatives that directly benefit the people and communities they serve.
Ineligibility Criteria
Foundation generally does not fund:
- Religious organizations, unless for a non-sectarian project that serves the whole community
- Organizations that discriminate against individuals
- Administrative or general operating expenses
- Endowments not held at the Community Foundation
- Fundraising events or campaigns
- Direct support for individuals
- Social, labor, veterans, alumni, or fraternal organizations
- Political causes, candidates, or lobbying
- Budget deficits or debt payments
- Recreational sporting events or athletic teams.
