The purpose of this announcement is to promote the development and implementation of innovative programs and tools for (a) fostering research integrity; (b) preventing or detecting research misconduct; (c) protecting whistleblowers, respondents, and other vulnerable researchers; and (d) enabling the proper handling of research misconduct allegations. For the purposes of this announcement, research integrity is defined as the use of honest and verifiable methods in proposing, performing, and evaluating research and reporting research results with particular attention to adherence to rules, regulations, guidelines, and commonly accepted professional codes or norms of the research community.
