The panel of community members who will be reviewing the funding requests will be a diverse group of individuals from all parts of the county. They will be looking for the following:
- Does the proposed project align with the Foundation’s strategic vision of making the Florida Keys a better place to live now and in the future?
- Does the project address a clear and demonstrated community need, and will it produce meaningful, measurable outcomes?
- Does the organization have the experience, staff, and infrastructure to successfully carry out the project?
- Is the project plan realistic and cost-effective, and is there a plan for sustainability beyond the grant period?
Funding Information
Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000 and aim for tangible, positive change by September 2026. Collaborations with a partnering organization may receive awards up to $30,000.
Grant Period
It is a 10-month grant period, from December 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- You are applying on behalf of a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit or faith-based organization in good standing with the IRS that is not a government organization, or private foundation.
- Your organization does not discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, national origin, gender identity, disability, political affiliation, or religious beliefs.
- The grant will be100% used to benefit residents of the Florida Keys.
- The grant will support a service or program directly provided by your organization, not a pass-through (you get the funds and give them to another organization).This grant may also support equipment, operating, administrative or capacity building expenses.
