The program goal is to help meet the goals of the regional Climate Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and 90% by 2050, using 2010 as a baseline, while building community resilience, reducing energy costs, and delivering multiple benefits through energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and other innovative climate solutions.
Objectives
Regional Green Grants support projects that meet the following objectives:
- Build community resilience to climate impacts and extreme weather events
- Reduce energy costs and utility burdens for residents and businesses
- Measurably reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the region
- Decrease energy and/or water consumption
- Promote waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy systems
- Leverage rebates and other funding sources to maximize project impact
- Support projects with multiple community benefits including economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
Funding Information
Regional Green Grants can range from $500 to $25,000 (with the median funded project between $5,000 –$10,000. These are reimbursement grants.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants are private businesses, non-profit organizations, HOAs, community spaces and individuals residing or working within San Miguel, San Juan, or Ouray Counties.
