The Delta Regional Authority’s (DRA) Strategic Planning Program offers funding to help communities develop strategic plans that address public infrastructure gaps, workforce development, and small business growth.
This program targets economically distressed areas across selected states and counties, aiming to boost economic growth through well-crafted community plans.
Applicants are encouraged to focus on improving economic development in isolated areas, incorporating community input, and demonstrating local or regional collaboration in their proposals.
About \$1.5 million in total funds is available, with grant awards ranging from \$25,000 to \$150,000. Grants cover a performance period of up to two years, during which recipients can request advances or reimbursements.
Funds may be used for a wide range of planning activities, including comprehensive plans, capital improvement plans, workforce development plans, transportation plans, broadband deployment, feasibility studies, and utility rate studies—all designed to foster economic growth.
Eligible applicants include local governments, federally recognized Tribes, public authorities and associations, nonprofit organizations, local development districts (which must apply with a government member), metropolitan planning organizations, and institutions of higher education. Private entities are not eligible.
The application deadline is August 1, 2025.
