The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of the District of Columbia is inviting proposals from nonprofit community-based organizations (CBOs) to operate grant programs for Fiscal Year 2026. The available programs include Cure the Streets (CTS), Domestic Workers Employment Rights, Leaders of Tomorrow: Youth Violence Prevention, and Workplace Rights.
The Cure the Streets initiative began in 2018 as a response to rising homicides in the District. It uses a public health approach to reduce violence. OAG plans to award up to $750,000 per program site in six targeted neighborhoods under this grant.
The Domestic Workers Employment Rights grant aims to protect domestic workers’ rights by promoting dignity, fairness, and safety. This funding supports outreach, education, capacity building, and advisory board facilitation with a total available amount of up to $260,000.
Leaders of Tomorrow focuses on youth violence prevention by addressing the root causes of crime and supporting positive youth development. OAG will provide up to $100,000 per grant with a total allocation of $500,000 across five priority areas: traditional programming, parental guidance, mental health support, youth advisory engagement, and substance use treatment.
The Workplace Rights grant program, established by the Workplace Rights Grant Program Act of 2021, supports organizations that educate and assist District workers about employment laws. OAG will award up to $750,000, distributed among at least two organizations, with no individual grant less than $100,000.
The grant period runs from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit community-based organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) status.
