Fremont Area United Way works collaboratively to make lasting change in the community. Funding decisions are made utilizing the concepts of collective impact and looking toward outcomes more than simply outputs. Fremont Area United Way strives to improve quality of life for generations through valuing prevention work and results focused data

  • Youth Opportunity: Ensuring that children and youth are ready for kindergarten, have success in school and graduate high school ready for college and career. This impact area covers children and youth from birth to age 2. Helping young people realize their full potential.
  • Financial Security: Helping individuals achieve financial stability and access opportunities to improve their economic well being. Creating a stronger financial future for every generation.
  • Healthy Community: Helping individuals and their families to live healthy lives.
  • Community Resiliency: Mobilizing stakeholders to help the community prepare for, withstand and recover from natural and manmade disasters, crises and challenges that no one entity can singularly accomplish.

Fremont Area United Way funded partners are encouraged to focus on programs and strategies that will most effectively help people gain access to educational, economic and health related opportunities. The ability to measure and communicate the results of this investment is of primary importance to this partnership.

Considerations

Consideration for funding includes the following priorities of the Fremont Area United Way:

  • Program focus related to helping children and youth achieve their potential, promoting financial stability and independence, and improving health and wellness.
  • Programs which meet a well-defined community need.
  • Programs with measurable outcomes which are clearly defined and tracked for results.
  • Programs which maximize resources, coordinate efforts, and work with local partners to achieve goals.
  • Programs with diverse revenue support including other funding sources, volunteer, or in-kind support.
  • Programs not duplicated by other services/programs currently available.
  • Programs directed by organizations with solid administrative and fiscal oversight.
  • Fremont Area United Way has an open grant process for those in our community having measurable outcomes.
