Details:

The DC Main Streets Program is a comprehensive economic development initiative designed to support the revitalization of business corridors throughout the District. DSLBD is dedicated to assisting all small businesses in DC to create a thriving economic ecosystem, making the area an attractive, vibrant, and engaging place to live, work, and visit. Through this program, DSLBD supports nearly 4,000 brick-and-mortar retail businesses across the twenty-nine designated DC Main Streets Business Corridors located in all District wards.

Each Grantee of the DC Main Streets Program serves as a front-line support system for small businesses, acting as a liaison between local business owners and the District government. The Grantee’s Executive Director, with assistance from the Grantee’s Board of Directors, is expected to implement a work plan that involves building relationships with businesses, distributing business subgrants, fostering a sense of place, identity, and community within the Business Corridor, and ensuring the efficient operation of a nonprofit organization that will support the Business Corridor.
