Proposals must advance the mission and vision of the Committee. Through this grant program, Louisville’s America 250KY Committee invests in projects that inspire connection, broaden participation, and celebrate our city’s unique place in the American journey — across neighborhoods, communities, and the entire year.

Funding Information

A total of $48,000 can be granted.

Eligible Projects

Eligible projects must take place in Louisville Metro (Jefferson County), Kentucky.

Grantees must be registered and in good standing with the following:

  • Internal Revenue Service
  • Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office
  • Louisville Metro Revenue Commission
  • Louisville Metro grant programs.

Eligible Costs

  • Core Program and Event Costs
    • Artist, performer, and speaker fees (honoraria, contracts, stipends)
    • Cultural, historical, and educational programming costs
    • Exhibit or installation costs (temporary displays, interpretive materials)
    • Curriculum or educational materials tied to events or workshops
    • Licensing or usage rights for historically relevant content (images, music, scripts)
  • Facilities & Venue Cost
    • Venue rental fees (indoor or outdoor spaces)
    • Permit fees required for public events
    • Utilities or facility-related charges directly tied to the event
    • Accessibility accommodations (ADA seating, ramps, assistive listening devices)
  • Production and Technical Costs
    • Audio/visual equipment rental (sound, lighting, projection)
    • Staging, tents, tables, chairs, barricades
    • Event production services
    • Livestreaming or recording services (especially for public access and archiving)
  • Supplies and Materials
    • Program supplies and materials
    • Decorations and signage (event-specific, non-permanent)
    • Printed materials (programs, schedules, educational handouts)
    • Safety supplies (crowd control materials, first-aid stations, PPE if applicable)
  • Marketing, Outreach, and Public Engagement
    • Graphic design services
    • Printing and distribution costs
    • Digital advertising and promotion
    • Website or event-page development
    • Translation and interpretation services for public access
  • Administrative, Insurance, and Compliance Costs
    • Payment processing or ticketing platform fees (if used)
    • Event insurance
    • Security services
    • Required inspections or compliance-related services

Eligibility Criteria

Grants will fund events that take place in Louisville Metro (Jefferson County), Kentucky no later than June 30, 2026. Grantees must submit an activity report and a financial report in July 2026. The financial report must include expenditure and payment documents. Grants are open to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofits.
