Through this RFP, the Foundation seeks an experienced grant writing partner to help secure the resources needed to bring this transformative vision to life. The selected partner will:
- Research and identify federal, state, local, and private funding opportunities aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
- Develop and write competitive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications.
- Collaborate with staff and leadership on budgets, supporting materials, and compliance.
- Assist in building the Foundation’s capacity for long-term grant management and reporting.
The Foundation was created to honor the ten lives lost and the three survivors of mass shooting, while advancing remembrance, healing, education, and social justice initiatives. The Living Memorial and Healing Center is envisioned as a world-class facility featuring immersive museum exhibits, a reflective garden, and community gathering spaces designed by internationally recognized architects Douglass Alligood and Jin Young Song of Alligood Song Architecture.
Proposals are strongly encouraged from minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and locally based firms or consultants, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in successful grant writing for nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge of philanthropic and public funding trends, particularly in education, social
justice, and community development. - Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, Board members, and community stakeholders.
- Experience in post-award compliance and reporting (preferred but not required).
