These grants opportunities represent our continued commitment to positively impacting Allegan County by supporting the vital services and programs that enhance the well-being of Allegan County residents. All food-related requests, product and distribution, should be addressed through this Food Security Grant application.
This support is intended to:
- Ensure efficient and effective support for the distribution of appropriate food choices to Allegan County individuals in need.
- Encouraging collaboration and cooperation to provide the best quality and value to those Allegan County community members struggling to meet their nutritional needs.
- Increase availability of and access to food options appropriate to individual’s dietary requirements or limitations in Allegan County.
Eligibliity Criteria
Before you apply for any of our grants ensure:
- Your entity is in good standing with the IRS. For example, the organizations 990s have been submitted annually,
- you have proof of a current Michigan License to Solicit, and
- you have a copy of your IRS letter of non-profit status determination.
Allegan County Community Foundation Grant Guidelines:
- Grants are made only to 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, governmental units, and educational institutions. Faith-based nonprofits may request funding to support services that are not religious based programming, do not discriminate based on religion, and do not require religious participation to access your organizations services.
- Grant projects and/or programs must benefit residents of Allegan County.
- Grants are made only to organizations that are in good financial health and well managed.
- Grants are made only for projects that are well-conceived and likely to be successful.
- Grants are made to organizations that are committed to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibit discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual identity, or national origin.
Upon receipt of all grant applications ACCF will verify the following:
- EIN matches that documented by the IRS
- Contact information matches the IRS contact information
- Current 990 submissions
- Current State of Michigan Corporate Filings
- Valid State of Michigan License to Solicit if applicable
PLEASE NOTE: In the case of a church, school, or government entity, a written and signed statement is required identifying them as an entity that is not recognized under IRS subsection 501(c)3 and why.
