The African American Legacy Fund (AALF), an initiative of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, has a vision of what Southern Arizona can be when they bring together people, money, and goodwill to make sure all the children, youth, and families have the opportunities and resources to prosper. AALF grants are designed to provide unrestricted operating support to provide flexible working capital and maximize the impact of nonprofits’ missions.
Funding Information
The minimum Rapid Response Grant request must be $5,000 and the maximum grant request is $10,000.
Grant Period
Rapid Response Grant periods are for one year in duration.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in good standing or apply using a fiscal sponsor.
- If applying with a fiscal sponsor or as a program of a more prominent university or university foundation, the fiscal sponsor or university must be a 501(c)3 in good standing.
- Applicant must be based in Southern Arizona (they welcome applicants from all counties south of the Gila River, including Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz, Yuma, and some of Pinal County)
- The organization’s programming must directly benefit the Black and/or African American community living in Southern Arizona.
- Applicant must be current in all reporting to CFSA.
