This Program will provide funding for fairgrounds infrastructure improvements to enhance visitor and exhibitor enjoyment of the county and local fairs in New York State.
Funding Information
There is a total of $1,650,754 available for this Program. Applicants may apply for amounts between $10,000 to $50,000.
Eligible Projects
- Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation, acquisition, repair or replacement of fairground buildings, equipment or permanent or temporary facilities used to house or promote agriculture; or
- Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation, acquisition, repair or replacement of water systems, restrooms, septic systems, and/or storm water management systems on fairgrounds or in fairground buildings.
Eligible Costs
Grant funds may be used for any of the following purposes that are directly related to completion of the project, including but not limited to:
- Salaries and wages;
- Contractor services;
- Equipment;
- Acquisition of permanent or temporary facilities;
- Architectural and engineering services; and
- Legal services.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants for this Program are agricultural or horticultural corporations and county extension service associations that sponsor an annual fair or exposition for the promotion of agriculture and domestic arts and receive premium reimbursements pursuant to section 286 of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
- Eligible applicants must have an executed contract or received approval for a work plan and budget for the use of available funds previously awarded under the Agricultural Fairgrounds Infrastructure Improvement Program before they can apply for this grant opportunity.
