County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 03/15/2024

Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned

Details:

Alaska Children’s Trust is offering mini grants to organizations to support activities across the state. This year, they’re focusing less on raising awareness, and more on how they can increase families’ connections to the supports and skills they need to thrive. They will be prioritizing mini-grant proposals which fall under the following two categories:

  • Access to Concrete Supports – Access to essential services and resources can help alleviate families’ stress and help children thrive.
  • Suggested activities include hosting an event to connect children, youth, and families with staff from a relevant organization or agency; hosting a family night or Go Blue Day celebration with fun activities and information on community resources; and translating materials or information about Child Abuse Prevention Month into different languages.
  • Emotional Skill Building – Giving children, caregivers, and providers the emotional coping tools to respond to difficult situations fosters community resilience.

Funding Information

Applicants can apply for up to $200. Funds can be used for venue/equipment rental, food, outreach materials or other supplies needed for the activity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applications are accepted from qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or equivalent organizations located in the state of Alaska. Equivalent organizations may include tribes, local or state governments, schools, or regional educational attendance areas.
  • Individuals, for-profit, 501(c)(4) or (c)(6) organizations, non-Alaska based organizations, and federal government agencies are not eligible for competitive grants. Applicants with outstanding and past due grant requirements are ineligible for funding.
